Fumoto valve is sweet!
No joke about the punching a hole in the filter. I ignored that bit of advice and it was a huge mess. Trust me, punch a hole in the filter and let that drain.😂😂😂
This is £200 in the UK… that must be $260 or something 😂
Somebody should invent a higher pressure gun that capable of slinging more mud per minute. first thing that i was thinking watching you spray was that a hand full of mud may put thicker and easier way to do it but ive never done it before just what came to mind. Would be a ton meesier by hand on dry straw tho im sure. Cool house!
Thanks for your videos, I am building my straw bale in Chihuahua Mexico, your videos have me the courage to start.
This is a later griswold it’s not the same as the original
But $4 is a good deal
00h Yeah... very similar to homeless encampments..
Stucco gun, bro...
So what happens when it rains? - I thought rainwater wasn't supposed to get in there.
We are doing this by clamping it with soft grip clamps to the top of the slide itself. Do you think the wind will damage the slide? Or will the clamps just rip off if it gets too windy?
Will a one pound propane tank work on it with an adapter?
Put a fine screen like for sinks it will helps keep debris off
All your video's are two or three years old. Have y'all finished your place? Please do a tour of all your buildings and projects. You two ROCK...
Looks like some culverts and ditches would help a bunch. Tractors sure come in handy
How many bales you use for this build?
Great job!
Very helpful videos for Strawbale Building but the pompous words are really not necessary
Just got quoted for $280 by the dealership to do this… nah, I’m good
thank you so much
Is your clay slip thin enough to apply it with a knockdown sprayer? I didn't see any chicken wire on your bails. Is it not needed?
Great idea! Thx for sharing. I'll have to check out Ed's boneyard!
Hey thanks for sharing. I really like the design of the mold.
If you need to add some ballast- Mount a lawn chair to it and have mama sit there with a cool drink and enjoy the ride ! Love ya'lls channel- New Sub All the best ! Wulfy
That is a great shade/green house.
Super helpful, very useful.Thankyou for posting.
You mentioned a 'clay' sprayer.. mind putting a link to it in description?
That is cool where about is this I am looking into something similar
very cool UwU is there any way to increase the pressure/compaction? for example put a steel plate to hit with a maul in the middle?
Is that pan spelled onafona???
I live in the high desert and just now building my greenhouse. Your shade cloth is way too dark. Your garden still needs sunlight so 40% is best, looks like you've got 80% or more. Plants still need sun. And BTW I hated your filler background music. Won't be back.
lol brutal. it was a decent video man 😂😂😂
Wish someone made a little mortar mixer similar to this. In a mortar mixer the paddles move and the drum is stationary.
WONDERFUL
Cost?
I know this is three years back, but i did the same thing diy. Except, my kit is 400 dollars. I said no way . I have a square lid smaller concrete tank . I had a 16 inch rise . Thus, i chose to use cinder blocks mortered and filled 8 inch. I did not want to much weight. I bought an irrigation box and put that on top . Backfilled with mulch not dirt. My lid fits through valve box . I spent 85 total. All other options 350- 400.
God bless you and your family. Love your haybuild walls. plan on doing my shop with hay walls for insulation. Thanks for the inspiration.
Please can you give us more feedback about using this barrels ? Do you feel it was worthy to have them in the greenhouse
What was your main reasons for building with straw? Less expensive? Higher wall R value?? Sorry Im new Great Job BTW Hope u r loving it.
Great info. How about an update? Thanks.
Mine is at a trickle now, fine on pump. I can’t wait to get one of these.
Is it important to warm up the truck prior. Like you had said you did
One well made box Bill. Just great! Thanks so much for sharing.
Nice ! An other approach, is to dip each bales into a bathube of slip before placing it. But i like the idea of the sprayer, for something like the roof insulation, it could be lighter and easier to carry a not heavy and wet bale
Then it would never dry in between the layers.
@@TheAlmightyGod1 I did mean dip not soak, and offcourse, as every strawbale workingside, it has to be done in summer so it dries well
@@AutoNomades You still have to fill in the gaps.
@@TheAlmightyGod1 wich gaps ? into the bale or beetween ? Between you can complete manually if you need/want to do. At least its easyer to coat or complete after a first dip or spray, because the dry straw is a bit water proof at first (straws are kinda covered with a kind of natural wax)
👍👍👍
@theupsideofdownsizing Hey, Bill and Yvonne!! How’s the homestead coming? My son and I live off grid in central Texas and I plan on building a straw bale tiny home soon(ish)! We haven’t heard from y’all in so long! I hope all is well with y’all! It seems like you may have retired from UA-cam, but will you please post an update video? I was getting so much info/experience from your content! I’m curious to see how the build has held up these past few years, and what I might need to watch out for for my future build!!! 🙏🏻 ❤😊 God bless
Its looking great and Yvonne rocked it out on that miter saw! Great job to both of you. This playlist has been very inspiring!
what percent is the white shade cloth? seems to be 90% coverage. Won't that affect the amount of sunlight the plants get?
Never use any type of abrasive wheel or grinder on cast iron. 😢
I'm in the process of binge watching this whole playlist. Really great job so far (I know this video is like 3 years old, but I'm enjoying all the videos!). This is one of the best explained set of videos for building a strawbale house I've seen. So thank you and you guys are a great team! One question, you mentioned that the ladder configuration will be 16 inches wide for the base of the bales. Many others I have seen do it 18 inches wide. Are you working with smaller bales? I'm sure you probably answer this in future videos I haven't got to yet, but figured I'd ask anyway. 😁
Will definitely be contacting Mike for our place out in Portal! Top notch job, and a great price. Thanks for providing his contact
Great project!!
